Ciel Tower in Dubai's Marina district will be the tallest hotel in the world at 360.4 meters (1,181 feet) with 82 floors.

The design aims to make the most of the building's height, featuring a glass observation deck that offers 360-degree views of the city, including its renowned man-made islands.

Guests will also be able to see the sights from a rooftop pool - one of the highest in the world.

A range of "world-class" restaurants will be announced in the coming months, according to developer The First Group.

The hotel will feature 1,209 luxury suites and residences, as well as fitness and business facilities.

Construction work has been ongoing since 2016. The hotel is expected to open in late 2022 or early 2023.

Ciel Tower replaces the Gevora Hotel, also in Dubai, as the world's tallest hotel.
The Gevora, which opened in 2018, stands at 356 meters (1,168 feet) tall.

The Jumeirah Emirates Hotel Tower is just slightly shorter at 309 meters (1,014 feet).

Only buildings used wholly as hotels are considered eligible for the title of world's tallest hotel.
