Cathay Dragon takes to the skies —
Cathay Pacific has rebranded its Dragonair subsidiary as Cathay Dragon.

New livery —
Cathay Dragon's 41 planes will have their tail fins scrubbed of the Dragonair's Chinese dragon logo and replaced with a new design.

Familiar logo —
The new design is a white-on-red version of Cathay Pacific's logo -- an attempt to bring the identities of the sister brands closer together.

Another familiar logo? —
Does it resemble the design sported by Aussie carrier Qantas? Maybe, from a distance.

Cabin changes —
Inside, the rebranded airline's cabin crew will also be kitted out with new uniforms.

Brand recognition —
Cathay says the new brand will help it cash in on "international brand recognition and leverage on Cathay Dragon's unique connectivity into mainland China."
