
10. Monaco: Mobility experts ECA International have outlined the top 10 most expensive business travel locations for 2018. At number 10 is Monaco on the French Riviera. Click through the gallery to find out which destination is number one.

9. Basel, Switzerland: Dominating the report are Swiss cities -- in large part due to Switzerland's high performing currency. Basel, the country's third most populous city, places at number nine.

8. Washington DC: The US capital is number eight on the list. The ECA report examines the average cost for four-star hotel accommodation, meals, drinks, laundry, transport and other essentials.

7. Nassau, Bahamas: The capital of the Bahamas comes in at number seven on the list.

6. Paris, France: "You see at the top of the rankings the global cities such as London, Paris, New York, they're all very high because the amount of visitor numbers are very high," Simon Franklin, daily rates manager at ECA tells CNN Travel.

5. Bridgetown, Barbados: Bridgetown, the Barbados capital, just bridges the top five of ECA's list. Franklin advises business travelers worried about pricey places to do thorough research before they arrive.

4. Luanda, Angola: Luanda, Angola takes the number four spot on the list. "Make sure you are aware of the average cost for hotels and meals and things before you go," advises Franklin.

3. Zurich, Switzerland: The financial hub of Zurich is number three on the list. "Do a bit of research to see where you can get cheaper costs beforehand, stay off the most obvious streets and the highest priced areas of the city," Franklin adds.

2. Geneva, Switzerland: Geneva is the second most expensive city worldwide -- and the most expensive city in Europe for the fourth year in a row.
