Boeing 777X preview: Boeing gave attendees at the Aircraft Interiors Expo 2019 (AIX) in Hamburg, Germany a preview of the cabin of its new 777X. These renderings illustrate what the cabin will eventually look like.

Power of flight: "We've learned a lot since the 777 was first introduced in the '90s, especially a lot into human psychology during travel," Boeing cabin experience and revenue analysis regional director Kent Craver, tells CNN Travel. The company funneled that new knowledge into the 777X designs.

Overhead bin: The side walls of the airplane have been sculpted. Overhead bins appear small, but are actually more spacious than they look.

Spaciousness and flexibility: "We use lighting and the architecture to create not only physical space, which is finite, but a sense of spaciousness on a psychological level," says Craver. Boeing has designed the plane's interior to be multi-purpose and adaptable to airline preferences.

Research-heavy: The company is keen to stress the time and effort that's gone into the designs. "Everything that we've done is by design. Nothing is on there because it looks cool, sometimes it does look cool but it's not there because of that," adds Craver.

Outside connection: Each passenger cabin is four inches wider than the 777 and the idea is that everyone can see the windows, which have been moved up the fuselage.
