Valravn, Ohio —
Cedar Point's newest roller coaster isn't for the faint of heart or full of lunch. Valravn is the Ohio park's 18th roller coaster and lays claim to being the tallest dive coaster in the world.

Skull Island: Reign of Kong, Florida —
"King Kong" the movie has been remade twice since its first appearance in 1933. This time, Universal's Islands of Adventure will include guests on the mission for survival at Skull Island: Reign of Kong.

Justice League: Battle for Metropolis, Illinois —
The Justice League has a reserve team, and riders are part of the battle in Justice League: Battle for Metropolis, a new 4-D virtual-reality coaster at Six Flags Great America outside Chicago.

The Monster, Iowa —
The Monster will be Adventureland's first new coaster since the arrival of "The Outlaw" in 1993. The ride has five inversions and 10 "airtime" moments: those moments riders experience when they're pushed up out of their seats as the ride ascends and descends quickly.

Storm Chaser, Kentucky —
The new Storm Chaser coaster at Kentucky Kingdom, which stopped being a Six Flags park in 2010, has 12 airtime moments, three inversions and more.

Superman the Ride, Massachusetts —
Virtual reality will make guests feel like Superman in Superman the Ride, flying 20 stories into the air and dropping at 77 miles per hour, at Six Flags New England.

Gale Force, New Jersey —
No need to choose between old-timey amusements on the Ocean City boardwalk and a triple-launch coaster with 1,269 feet of twists and turns. Playland's Castaway Cove will open GaleForce this summer. At 64 miles per hour, riders may catch only a glimpse of the New Jersey shore.

Mako, Florida —
The riders become the sharks at Mako, SeaWorld Orlando's newest -- and tallest, longest and fastest -- roller coaster. It's all part of Shark Wreck Reef, a new underwater world that combines a thrilling ride and increasing shark awareness.

Steamin' Demon, New York —
Riders get to engage in a battle to save the planet from alien invaders as the Steamin' Demon coaster adds virtual reality at Six Flags Great Escape in upstate New York.

Massiv, Texas —
Never mind that Massiv, the newest water coaster at Schlitterbahn Waterpark's Galveston location, isn't technically a roller coaster. When it opens, it'll be the tallest water coaster in the world, the park says. (It won't say how tall, yet.) Grab a tube and slide.
