Gentle giants: "Ahoy there, I'm coming up for a look!" @tomcannon.photography snapped this astonishing photo of a #whaleshark at #CoralBay in @australiascoralcoast, which plays host to a migratory population of these gentle giants. If you're heading to @westernaustralia, be sure to add a whale shark swim to your bucket list.

New worlds: When you step foot into #MungoNationalPark, it's like you've arrived on another planet! @donaldhyip captured this astonishing shot when recently exploring this part of #outback @visitnsw. On a guided @nswnationalparks tour with an Aboriginal ranger, you'll learn about the 40,000-plus years of Aboriginal cultural history of Lake Mungo and the Traditional Owners.

For sale: Lawnmower, Australian-made, excellent condition. Works a treat. All offers considered! We're only joking, our #wombats aren't for sale, but they are exceptional lawnmowers. Photographer @evangelia.thomas bumped into this guy on #MariaIsland in @tasmania, where the grass is particularly well-manicured thanks to the healthy local wombat population.

Think pink: This vivid pink body of water is #LakeHillier, and you'll find it on Middle Island near #Esperance off the far south coast of @westernaustralia. You can view the lake on a charter flight with @esperancecharters; we strongly advise packing your camera, GoPro, phone, maybe an extra camera and even some spare batteries - you'll want to make sure you capture this sensational sight! Turtle 'tude: We'd like to apologise for this shot. Wayne's not normally in such a bad mood -- he's just not his usual happy self on Mondays, which is understandable! Thankfully, the other turtles that live on @queensland's #GreatBarrierReef are very polite and love to swim with humans. Oh well, lucky tomorrow is a Tuesday! Photo: @_markfitz

Flower power: The city of #Grafton is awash with glorious shades of purple right now as jacaranda season is in full bloom. The spectacular annual flowering of the jacaranda trees calls for a celebration, which takes place in the form of the @graftonjacarandafestival which kicked off last weekend. This floral festival is a must-visit if you're heading to the beautiful @myclarencevalley region in late October or early November. Photo: @keykodesign

Glamor shots: "Make sure my legs are in the shot, they're my best feature ..." -- BoBo the #koala at has a lot of admirers, so when he had his portrait photo taken at @currumbinsanctuary recently he wanted to make sure he looked good for the camera! This handsome fella is the son of Keeley the koala, who just so happens to be a famous model -- in fact, he's so good looking that there's an enormous photo of him on a billboard in Paris. Crabs crossing: This annual migration on @christmasisland happens towards the end of each year, when the rains provide optimum conditions for the crabs' long journey to the ocean. It's estimated up to 50 million of these bright red critters live on #ChristmasIsland - we're talking carpets of crabs, everywhere you look. It's a spectacle that Sir David Attenborough described as "one of the greatest natural wonders on earth" -- we couldn't agree more! Photo: @faulkner_photography
