Denver's newest hotel, The Art, opened June 16. "Otter," a life-size horse sculpture by Deborah Butterfield, greets guests in the welcome area.

The hotel features an original work on each floor. Prints by the featured artist hang in that floor's guest rooms. The print in this room is by Dinh Q. Lê, a Vietnamese artist known for his woven photo images.

21c Museum Hotel Durham has more than 10,000 feet of exhibition space. Rotating exhibits are open to the public free of charge.

"NYT" (left) is a 12-part acrylic-on-canvas painting by KAWS (Brian Donnelly). It serves as the focal point for the 35-foot atrium lobby of Le Meridien Columbus, The Joseph.

The Ohio Portfolio, 31 limited-edition screen prints by 15 artists with ties to the state, is on view on the second floor of the hotel.

The Bar at Baccarat displays a range of works salon-style on its rich red walls.

The Baccarat's entrance features a unique take on crystal. More than 2,000 Baccarat Harcourt glasses, lit by LEDs, are arranged on a 20-by-25-foot wall.

The Renwick (New York) —
The Renwick in New York is expected to open in the fall. Hotel designers tout art as "a lifestyle," not "an adornment." The hotel will skip framed artwork in favor of functional creations from local artists.
