Cruise lines are constantly trying to outdo each other. Royal Caribbean's Quantum of the Seas gets the "wow factor" award, with a skydiving simulator, bumper cars, an aerial viewing pod and inside cabins with "virtual balconies" thanks to giant LCD screens showing an ocean view. Norwegian Getaway has a pirate-themed children's aqua park on board featuring SpongeBob SquarePants. The new ship is scheduled to be christened in February.
