
American actor Marlon Brando as Stanley Kowalski in the film "A streetcar named desire," which helped popularize the T-shirt, then still mostly considered underwear. The cultural impact of this ubiquitous garment is the subject of a new exhibition at London's Fashion and Textile Museum.
