This week, KAWS' "SEEING/WATCHING" permanent installation will be unveiled at Changsha International Finance Square (IFS), a new development in Hunan, China which includes a mall and office tower.

Two of his signature characters Companion and BFF are perched atop the Sculpture Garden of Changsha IFS, overlooking the city.

The permanent bronze work was developed in partnership with curator AllRightsReserved and the Wharf Group.

The work is titled "SEEING/WATCHING."

The work of New York-based artist KAWS is currently on show at the Galerie Perrotin in Hong Kong.

The exhibit opened during Hong Kong's Art Basel and art week in March.

In 2016, KAWS took over the UK's Yorkshire Sculpture Park, an open-air gallery, with his large-scale sculptures.

KAWS is known for his distinctive cartoon-like figures and large-scale sculptures.

In 2012, a KAWS balloon was included in the Annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade -- a major event in New York City.

A new wave of young Chinese art buyers now collect his work. Pictured are two KAWS pieces from the collection of Kylie Ying, co-founder the ART021 Shanghai Contemporary Art Fair.
