Johnny Depp has put his Los Angeles residence on the market for $12.7 million. The spectacular property shows the actor's love of art, including this eye-catching mural by Brazilian artist twins OSGEMEOS, which takes up an entire wall of the dining room.

The residence sit at the top of the landmark Eastern Columbia Building in the Historic Core district. "As far as architecture is concerned, the clock tower is iconic, it's one of the finest examples of art deco architecture from the period, certainly in Los Angeles," the agent for the sale, Kevin Dees, says.

Depp's home, which he has just moved out of, is made up of five separate condos. The actor purchased the first one in 2007.

Depp then bought up the other four apartments in the wing over the next few years and connected three of the condos by adding doorways to each.

Records show that Depp bought the apartments directly from the developer, and paid around $7.2 million for all five.

The three combined condos act as the living and entertaining space.

The two remaining condos were left separate -- one serves as a guest room while the other is an art and media studio.

All of the penthouses feature sweeping views over Los Angeles.

"The best way to describe it is, each of these units, think of it like rooms in a home," says Dees.

"These are lofts but the unique aspect of these penthouses is they each have their own bedrooms upstairs on the second level, both ensuite, and it's just a fabulous place with fabulous pieces of art," Dees adds.

As well as access to the building's shared gym, swimming pool and "leisure terrace", the home has several of its own private terraces.

Framed pieces of art and family photos adorn almost every wall of the penthouses.

The walls of the apartment are painted in vibrant blues and greens that mirror the bright turquoise terra cotta and gold leaf tiles that line the building's exterior.

Depp reached a divorce settlement with actress Amber Heard in August. She announced that she would donate the financial proceeds to charity.

The condo is one of numerous properties owned by Depp and the actor is selling two other mansions he owns -- one in France and the other in Venice.

The agent would not confirm that the sale was related to the divorce. "Prices in downtown Los Angeles are at levels that we've never seen, especially in the Historic Core," says Dees.

"Mr. Depp is not only a brilliant actor and artist but he's a smart businessman," says Dees.
