Watches and Wonders, an exhibition organized by the Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie, is held in Hong Kong each year. It's a chance for luxury watch brands like IWC, to show new collections.

According to CEO of IWC Georges Kern, a collector should own at least three or four watches. "One for business, one for leisure, and one for extravagant events," he says.

For customers looking to purchase their first luxury watch, Kern states that one should consider factors such as the way a certain color looks on the wearer's skin, as well as how a watch would fit into their wardrobe staples. "For instance, with a blue suit, I can wear a blue watch."

Kern says that dark blue is one of his favorite colors, and is often spotted in a dark blue suit. The above Portofino Automatic 37 in all blue was revealed at Watches & Wonders 2015.

IWC also premiered the Portofino Hand-Wound Day & Date.

For this new release, IWC teamed up with Italian shoemaker Santoni, who produced the leather straps for the watches. This piece is available in stainless steel or red gold.

This Portofino Automatic 37 in raspberry pink, comes with a diamond set and a silver plated dial.

The final addition to IWC's new roster at Watches & Wonders 2015 is the Portofino Automatic Moon Phase 37. The dial is constructed using pearl oyster and features a moon phase face. The moon rises and sets behind the clouds as time passes.

Kern observes watch trends found in the Asia market: "China is not a sports watch market -- instead, consumers tend to like watches that are a little bit flatter, a little bit smaller and have a touch of elegance. That's what's happening right now in the market."
