Luxury fashion house Chanel took to the streets of Cuba to reveal its 2017 Resort collection.

It was conducted with Cuban music playing alongside.

The show took place along one of Havana's central streets, Paseo del Prado.

The show is part of a month-long initiative to showcase French culture in Cuba. The catwalk ended with models dancing down the boulevard.

Chanel is the first major fashion house to send models down the runway in Cuba.

Alongside the catwalk show, designer Karl Lagerfeld has also curated an exhibition titled "Obra en Proceso/Work in Progress."

The exhibition will cover fashion, architecture and landscapes.

It will feature over 200 works by Karl Lagerfeld.

Local residents packed balconies along the street to catch a glimpse of some of the stars and the show.

Guests were brought to the show in hundreds of multicolored vintage American cars that were rented for the evening.

"The rented over a hundred old cars," said Victor, one of the drivers of the classic cars hired for the evening by Chanel. "There are not many cars like this left in the city right now."
