
Amdavad ni Gufa, a subterranean museum with domed roofs that protrude playfully above ground. It was designed by Balkrishna Doshi, the first Indian architect to win the Pritzker Prize in its four-decade history.

The Aranya Low Cost Housing project is able to accommodate over 80,000 people in more than 6,500 residences. Typical of Doshi's pioneering housing complexes, it features an intricate network of interconnected passages, courtyards and public spaces.

In 1966 Doshi completed Ahmedabad's School of Architecture, where he served as founding director. The school is now part of the Centre for Environmental Planning and Technology.

The campus of the Indian Institute of Management in Bangalore, designed by Doshi and completed in 1992.

Completed in 1962, the Institute of Indology was one of Doshi's first projects after leaving the tutelage of pioneering French-Swiss architect, Le Corbusier.
