He is based in New York and writes about money topics and financial products with an eye toward the consumer. In his role, he oversees the creation of comprehensive guides on credit cards, household expenses, budgeting, taxes, filing for unemployment and more, as well as covering timely news subjects such as how to use credit card points to save money at Amazon or the smart ways for people who received their stimulus payments on debit cards to avoid paying fees.
Before joining CNN, Kheel learned the ins and outs of credit card rewards and travel loyalty programs while flying more than 200,000 miles a year as a TV producer and director for World Wrestling Entertainment. He has also appeared as an analyst to discuss finance, travel and loyalty programs on national television segments for Bloomberg News, CNBC’s “Squawk Box,” Yahoo Finance and Cheddar TV, as well as on ABC and CBS Radio. He has been quoted in The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal and the Chicago Tribune on financial and travel-related topics as well.
Originally from New York and South Florida, Kheel is a graduate of Syracuse University’s Newhouse School of Public Communications with a bachelor’s degree in television, radio and film production.
