Jaya Sharma is a Planning Producer based in London. Part of the Amanpour team, she books guests, segment produces and works in the field. She has contributed to every show on CNN International, and currently works on Amanpour, CNN International’s flagship program, which also airs nationwide in the US on PBS as Amanpour & Co. She also works on Christiane Amanpour’s Saturday morning show The Amanpour Hour.

Sharma first joined CNN in 2019 and has worked on a number of key breaking news events in that time, including the Covid-19 pandemic, the protests in Hong Kong, the war in Ukraine and the Israel-Hamas war.

Sharma has served as part of CNN’s New Voices initiative which ensures diversity of voices on air for both CNN and CNN International. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Nottingham and a Master’s Degree in Journalism, alongside an NCTJ Diploma, from the University of Kingston.
