After progressives secured a 4-3 majority on Wisconsin’s highest court in last year’s blockbuster contest, they flipped another seat to extend their majority to 5-2. Chris Taylor, a progressive state appeals court judge, defeated fellow judge Maria Lazar to replace retiring conservative Justice Rebecca Bradley. While the race is officially nonpartisan, Taylor is backed by Democrats and Republicans are supporting Lazar. Taylor will serve a 10-year term.
