Republican Clay Fuller, a former district attorney, defeated Democrat Shawn Harris, a retired Army brigadier general, in a special election to replace former GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene. While the result, in a district that voted for President Donald Trump by 37 percentage points in 2024, is a considerable overperformance for Democrats, it gives the narrow Republican majority in the U.S. House a bit more breathing room.
