Democrat Shawn Harris, a retired Army brigadier general, will face former district attorney Clay Fuller, who has President Donald Trump’s endorsement, in an April 7 runoff to replace Marjorie Taylor Greene.

Harris, who lost to Greene in 2024, took nearly all the Democratic vote and led in the first round of voting against a more splintered Republican field, but finished short of the majority needed to win the seat outright.

While Fuller will be heavily favored in the runoff, the outcome means the seat will go unfilled for another month as US House Republicans try to navigate a historically narrow majority.
