'The latest high-stakes talks between Israel and Lebanon at the US State Department wrapped up and continue again tomorrow. That's as the Israeli military and their Iran-backed militant group Hezbollah continue to trade attacks in southern Lebanon overnight, despite a ceasefire extension between Israel and Lebanon. Hezbollah-owned media says the group received two US ceasefire proposals, rejecting one that it said came from US Secretary of State Marco Rubio. It's discussing a second proposal from President Donald Trump. Today, Iranian media outlets signaled that talks between Tehran and Washington were back on track a day after reports that Iran suspended them over Israel's attacks on Lebanon. But the country's top negotiator threatened escalation of Israel's attack on Lebanon continued. Meanwhile, Rubio and other top Trump officials testified at various Capitol Hill hearings today. Rubio told lawmakers at the Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing that negotiations on Iran's nuclear program would be, quote, highly technical and could take months.

'The House Ethics Committee is investigating Democratic California Congressman Jimmy Gomez over sexual misconduct allegations. That's what three sources tell CNN. They say the panel looked into a New York Post story alleging Gomez had a make-out session outside a backyard party in 2023 with a nade who worked for a different member of Congress. A spokesperson told the Post at the time that the accounts weren't true and didn't happen. One source told CNN that in investigating that story, the House Ethics Committee came across other allegations of sexual misconduct that it is now probing. In a response to CNN, Gomez acknowledged having made mistakes that caused his family pain, but said his actions were consensual and had not violated the law or any House ethics rules. The House Ethic Committee declined to comment.

President Trump says he accepted an invite to speak at a second White House Correspondence Dinner this summer after a shooting at the previous event in April. He said it'll be held at the Waldorf Astoria in Washington, D.C., formerly the Trump International Hotel. CNN's Betsy Klein has more. Today,

the White House Correspondence Association President Weijia Jiang announcing in a statement that it will be rescheduled to July 24th. She says that this is going to be a more intimate gathering and she said that the decision to reschedule was not automatic. It happened after a lot of careful thought and discussion amongst the White House Correspondence Association, its leadership. So Jang says that this time there will be significantly enhanced safety measures at this rescheduled dinner. She also says quote, this dinner will not only be an opportunity to carry out our program, it will be a statement that violence has no place in American life and a free press will be intimidated into silence.

So job openings in the U.S. Are at their highest level in nearly two years. CNN's Alicia Wallace explains.

Thanks, Ifeoma. So the latest data on labor turnover, the workers moving in, within, out of the labor market, it showed that the job postings bolted higher at the end of April. Now some caveats, monthly data is volatile and these numbers do get revised, but if it's not a blip, it would indicate that there's more demand for workers and hence some underlying strength in the jobs market. And considering the lion's share of those openings were in professional and business services, that could be quite heartening for white collar workers who have had a hard time finding a job or those worried about the effects of AI. Now we'll get an even better look at the state of employment on Friday when the May jobs report is released.

Coming up, Trump's new AI policy.

President Trump has signed a new executive order seeking early government access to the latest AI models before they launch. It comes as AI models like Anthropix Mythos have spooked government and Wall Street over security concerns. CNN's Hadas Gold has more.

'It asks AI companies who are working on these really advanced frontier models to give the government early access to these models up to 30 days before they're released to others. And that's because, as you noted, some of these models are so good when it comes to cybersecurity that it could be like having a million hackers who are the best working 24-7 with you. And so the government needs to have access to those models to help prepare critical infrastructure and critical industries. What's interesting is that there's a difference between the draft executive order that I saw, according to sources, just a few weeks ago and the one that was released today. And that's the time period. This current executive order asks these companies to give these models to the government 30 days before. The earlier draft I saw asked for a 90-day pre-release period. So it is notable that that leans more towards what the industry wanted. And now it's just 30 days instead of those 90 days.

Major AI companies engaged directly with the White House on developing this executive order. OpenAI's chief global affairs officer called the order quote, an important step forward.
