The president also said the Strait of Hormuz will be open to everybody and warned Oman, which Iran has suggested would help manage the waterway, not to interfere.

We're going to watch over it, we'll watch over it, but nobody's going to control it. That's part of the negotiation that we have. They would like to control. Nobody's going control it, it's international waters and Oman will behave just like everybody else and we'll have to blow them up.

'According to Iranian state TV, the memorandum of understanding being negotiated between Iran and the US would lift the US blockade of Iranian ports in return for the reopening of the straits at pre-war levels. However, the White House says the report isn't true. Meantime, Trump also suggested an Iran deal could hinge on more nations joining the Abraham Accords, aimed at normalizing ties with Israel. But when pressed, he declined to say that any agreement would be contingent on adding nations to the Abraham accords.

Matthew Perry's personal assistant was sentenced to three years and five months in prison. Kenneth Iwamasa had a central role in Perry's ketamine addiction and injected him with the fatal dose of the drug. He was also ordered to pay a $10,000 fine. Iwamasa was at Perry's side through the final days of his life. He the last person to see Perry alive and was the one who found him dead in his jacuzzi in October 2023. 'The search to recover nine missing employees who are presumed dead continues a day after a chemical tank rupture at a paper plant in Washington state. At least two people were killed and another eight wounded. Officials said recovery efforts were on hold last night due to safety concerns about the unstable tank. Yesterday morning, the 900,000-gallon tank imploded. It contained a chemical mixture called white liquor, which is used in papermaking processes and can cause severe burns when it comes into contact with skin. Officials originally said about 90,000 gallons of material could still be inside the damaged tank, but an inspection revealed a significantly smaller volume.

Former Attorney General Pam Bondi was diagnosed with thyroid cancer after leaving the Justice Department in April. She says she's recovering from undergoing treatment, including having surgery a few weeks ago. President Trump fired Bondi in early April, with Todd Blanch serving as her acting replacement. Her new role in the administration will be on the Presidential Council of Advisors on Science and Technology. Meanwhile, Bondi is scheduled to testify in the House Oversight Committee's Jeffrey Epstein probe this Friday.

The Attorneys General in New York and New Jersey are looking into the skyrocketing ticket prices to the upcoming World Cup. CNN's Brynn Gingras explains.

Yeah, lots of questions swirling about the high ticket prices for the World Cup games, but it's not just the prices, it's the seed assignments fans were given after paying these high prices that's also just got people feeling completely misled. FIFA's practices like how the organization went about selling these tickets is now part of the investigation announced today by the New York and New Jersey Attorneys General. Now let me give you an example of one of the complaints. A fan buys a ticket in a category one area of a stadium where a World Cup game will be played. Super desirable seats. And then later FIFA assigns the seat and it's listed as in the category two part of a Stadium. Sometimes behind a goalpost or in corner of the stadium. That's what's being alleged in some cases here. Now the games begin in just a few weeks. It's unclear what kind of recourse there will be with these actions taken. As for FIFA, well, it declined to comment to CNN.
