As Hurricane Isaias made landfall in Florida Friday night, the roof of a hotel in Pensacola was ripped off. Recovery efforts have begun after the hurricane downed trees and knocked out power to hundreds of thousands across the Gulf Coast. Isaias has now weakened and moved inland, but the threat from damaging winds remains.

Isaias made landfall Friday night as a Category 2 hurricane near Destin, Florida. It’s the first hurricane landfall in the United States since October 2024.

The NYPD released body-camera footage showing officers responding to the scene after ICE officers shot and wounded a man in the Bronx on Thursday afternoon.
The footage begins with NYPD officers pulling up to a tense scene: A man in a construction vest is holding up a rifle, bystanders are yelling and a handcuffed man is sitting on the ground receiving treatment to his left neck.
Several officers lift up the injured man, place him into the back of the NYPD vehicle, and then drive away, the video shows. The officers later take the man out of the vehicle and carry him toward an ambulance.

DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin fired back at New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani over his response to a shooting involving an ICE agent, accusing him of using "dangerous" language that incites hostility. Mullin defended ICE's work and rejected Mamdani's call to abolish the agency.
