Couple narrowly escapes fire while camping

A couple camping in eastern Washington told CNN they fled after spotting a massive plume of smoke, escaping just before the rapidly spreading Mitre Rock Fire reached the area. Thousands of residents near Spokane have been forced to evacuate from wildfires sparked Saturday.

Unidentified courier believed to have delivered bomb to Moscow restaurant

Moscow’s mayor says a bomb blast that killed at least two people and injured 21 others at a restaurant was a “terrorist attack.” An unidentified woman attempted to enter a private event at the Balzi Rossi restaurant on Kudrinskaya Square carrying what authorities believe was an improvised explosive device, state media reported. The bomb went off before she entered, killing the security guard who stopped her, and a customer, as well as the woman carrying the device, according to authorities. Authorities did not immediately identify the woman and it was unclear whether she deliberately detonated the device. CNN’s Fred Pleitgen reports in Moscow.

Israeli strike leaves crater at Gaza hospital, destroys medical supplies

Israeli strikes on Gaza left a huge crater at a hospital less than 48 hours after US President Donald Trump announced Hamas and Israel had agreed to advance a ceasefire plan, local authorities said. The attack destroyed vital medical supplies, demolished two medical warehouses at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital and damaged two others, according to Gaza's health ministry. CNN's Abeer Salman reports.
