Sweden’s Lucia tradition spreads beyond borders

An 18th-century Swedish winter ritual is spreading beyond Scandinavia. Demand for Lucia processions now outstrips capacity for the Lucia Choir of the Swedish Church in London. We follow this year’s chosen Lucia, Clara Lindvall, as she prepares to lead a candle-crowned procession at Westminster Cathedral.
