It’s the largest military parade that Washington, DC, has seen in decades.
Dozens of tanks and fighting vehicles are rolling through the capital’s streets today to celebrate the US Army’s 250th anniversary. Nearly 7,000 soldiers are set to participate in the event, which also coincides with President Donald Trump’s 79th birthday.
Trump, who has long pushed for a military parade, promised a patriotic show unlike anything seen before.
“It’s going to be an amazing day,” he said this earlier this week. “We have tanks. We have planes. We have all sorts of things, and I think it’s going to be great. We’re going to celebrate our country for a change.”
