With two hydrofoils on each side of the vessel, the body of the RaceBird is lifted out of the water as it accelerates, reducing water resistance and thus increasing speed and efficiency.

Formula E has taken motor racing to urban streets, and it's hoped that E1 events will also take place in major cities. E1 is in negotiations with cities around the world, with Venice, Budapest and Monaco all likely destinations for the first season.
