He was once known as "America's Mayor."

Rudy Giuliani, the mayor of New York City from 1994-2001, was widely praised for his leadership after the 9/11 terror attacks. Time magazine named him its Person of the Year, and even Queen Elizabeth II gave him an honorary knighthood.

In 2018, Giuliani joined the personal legal team of President Donald Trump. He became an outspoken defender of Trump's policies, often appearing on television to push the President's agenda. When Trump lost the 2020 election, Giuliani was put in charge of the campaign's post-election challenges.

In June 2021, an appellate court suspended Giuliani from practicing law in New York state after it found that Giuliani made "demonstrably false and misleading statements" about the 2020 election.

Giuliani and his second wife, Donna, hold their newborn son Andrew in 1986. At the time, Giuliani was US attorney for the Southern District of New York. Before that, he was associate attorney general of the United States. That's the third-highest position in the Department of Justice.
