During evacuations, some of the migrants set shelters on fire. By the middle of the week, <a href="index.php?page=&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.cnn.com%2F2016%2F10%2F26%2Feurope%2Fcalais-jungle-france-close%2F" target="_blank">more than 4,400 people had been bused out of Calais</a> to other regions of the country. The town is known for being a major transit point for migrants trying to reach Great Britain.
