Fans chanted, "Bobby, Bobby," and the Giants -- who would go on to win the World Series that year -- paused their on-field celebration as Cox stepped out of the dugout one final time, acknowledging the crowd and waving to the fans. Cox, who won more than 2,500 games in his 29-year managerial career, was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2014.
