Cookie on "Empire" would think Taraji P. Henson's nomination is sweet. Her fellow leading ladies include Viola Davis ("How to Get Away With Murder"), Robin Wright ("House of Cards"), Tatiana Maslany ("Orphan Black"), Claire Danes ("Homeland") and Elisabeth Moss ("Mad Men").

Outstanding lead actor in a comedy series —
Jeffrey Tambor continues his Emmys streak with another nomination for Amazon's "Transparent." He goes up against funny men Louis C.K. ("Louie"), Matt LeBlanc ("Episodes"), Don Cheadle ("House of Lies"), Anthony Anderson ("Black-ish"), Will Forte ("The Last Man on Earth") and William H. Macy ("Shameless").

Outstanding lead actress in a comedy series —
Laughs galore with Emmys' picks for the funniest women on TV. Julia Louis-Dreyfus was nominated for "Veep" alongside Amy Poehler ("Parks and Recreation"), Lisa Kudrow ("The Comeback"), Amy Schumer ("Inside Amy Schumer"), Edie Falco ("Nurse Jackie") and Lily Tomlin ("Grace and Frankie"). First time nominee Keegan-Michael Key (right, with Jordan Peele) is being honored for his nimble comic work on Comedy Central's "Key & Peele." Also nominated are Andre Braugher ("Brooklyn Nine-Nine"),Adam Driver ("Girls"), Ty Burrell ("Modern Family"), Tituss Burgess ("Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt") and Tony Hale ("Veep").

Outstanding supporting actress in a comedy series —
Mayim Bialik (here with Jim Parsons) has charmed audiences for years as Sheldon's girlfriend on "Big Bang Theory." Joining her in this crowded category are Niecy Nash ("Getting On"), Julie Bowen ("Modern Family"), Allison Janney ("Mom"), Kate McKinnon ("Saturday Night Live"), Gaby Hoffmann ("Transparent"), Jane Krakowski ("Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt") and Anna Chlumsky ("Veep").
