After pursuing bariatic surgery and becoming a triathlete, Marilia Brocchetto has lost almost 100 pounds. Click through our gallery to learn more about her story in her own words.

Marilia Brocchetto shares her journey in her own words: "High school sophomore year (2004 I think), this is me right after one of my last successful crash diets. I am the thinnest I can remember in this picture."

"This was taken in 2007, I'm starting to gain the weight back. Here I am trying to conceal my weight with a jacket and a pose."

"This was in 2009, right after my college graduation. My cheeks are more round and I'm definitely a lot heavier."

"This was in 2010. Note the side shot and hiding behind the nice man that's probably having a heat stroke in that costume. This is one of the last pictures I took between 2010 and 2013. The following years I got really good at hiding when photos were being taken and just not appearing in them."

"2014, in front of the Grand Hotel in Taipei, Taiwan. You won't be seeing any of these pictures on Facebook or Instagram. This is me at my heaviest and hopefully, after this year, never again."

"Oh what a difference 80 pounds make. These pictures were taken at the same location, but many many pounds apart." The bottom image is from March 2015 and the top is from February 2016.
