Cape Town-based artist Bonga Jwambi creates affordable furniture from reused materials. These chairs were constructed from old transport materials, including pallets and box packaging.

Ryan Frank creates new materials by combining grass fibers with recycled polypropylene. He then turns them into crane-like hooks for home use.

Cape Town-based organization GROWbag creates planters from discarded billboard vinyl. The company has paired with non-profit Soil For Life, which teaches gardening and nutrition to Capetonians.

Swaziland company Quazi Designs employs local women to create original pieces from recycled magazines, brass, glass and wood. These cluster lights are made from pulp created from old newspapers.

Young design student Amy Rusch was invited to showcase her botanical sculpture after the Design Indaba team sent out a call for submissions on their website.
