Farmers in Wales are extending the concept of "Internet of Things" to a rural environment.

Even though equipping animals with WiFi hotspots has been part of the discussion, sheep would not make for great service providers, as they tend to flock together.

Other projects are looking at connecting other species, such as reindeer.

"We might look at cows in the future," Professor Gordon Blair of Lancaster University told CNN.

According to some estimates, there will be three times as many "things" connected to the internet as humans within the next 10 years.
