Taxi service —
Mellowcabs is a South African startup that is developing electric three-wheeled vehicles for urban commuters in need of micro transport.

Daily mileage —
The vehicles will have an estimated daily range of 110 km (68miles) and 35% of the cab's power comes from a solar panel on the cab's roof.

Meet the man —
Mellowcab founder Neil du Preez says the electric three-wheeled vehicle will be less harmful to the environment than traditional taxis, and also cheaper for passengers. The entrepreneur has been "playing around" with different transport ideas for about three years -- in the past, he led a child mobility company called Riksha.

Marketing options —
The Mellowcab business aims to earn revenue from advertisers who can put their logo on the vehicle. As well as this, an iPad will be in the passenger area, and companies can pay to have their brand displayed in a digital format.

Rollout roadmap —
Du Preez says he is aiming for the vehicles to be on South African roads in the first quarter of 2015. As well as his native South Africa, du Preez plans to bring Mellowcabs to Nigeria and U.S.A
