Security made in Kenya —
Kelvin Macharia Kuria is the founder of Sunrise Tracking, a car security company based in Kenya.

Tracking stolen cars —
Macharia decided to start a security business after one of his relatives had his car stolen. "It was unfortunate we were not able to recover the vehicle." he said. "And I thought I could come up with a way to track it."

Follow your own vehicle —
"Anytime you have installed a tracking system in a vehicle we can track the vehicle using our fleet management system," explains Macharia. "Also the client has access to his or her own account to see how the vehicle is moving, from one point to the next."

Send a text, stop the car —
Macharia started the business two years ago and now has eight employees. His offerings include a system that can disable a car's engine remotely via text message.

International plans —
Despite the difficulties of starting a local security business in Kenya, Macharia says he hopes that Sunrise Tracking will attract the attention of the international market in the next few years.
