But it seems the singer had a more simple reason for wearing his pants high and tight, as he did here in 1970 alongside his girlfriend at the time, Marianne Faithfull. "I've always done a kind of skinny silhouette because I am skinny; I don't have to worry about covering up fat bits!" he has previously told <a href="index.php?page=&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.wwd.com%2Ffashion-news%2Ffashion-features%2Fsartorial-satisfaction-6501480%3Fpage%3D1" target="_blank" target="_blank">Women's Wear Daily</a>. "So you've got to emphasize your silhouette."
