Sailing for Europe —
The "Esimit Europa 2" is the first sailing boat to compete under the European emblem and the first to be given the honor to fly the European flag.

Becoming pan-European —
The first model, "Esimit Europa" was originally founded in 1995 to promote unity between Slovenia and Italy. The new boat has sought a broader appeal to become a truly pan-European venture.

The spec —
The "supermaxi" yacht is 30 meters long, 5.3 meters wide and has a mast height of 44 meters.

Easy to spot —
The yacht's distinctive blue and yellow branding echoes the colors typically associated with the European Union.

Multinational boat —
Although she was built in Australia the "Esimit Europa 2" is a truly pan-European boat - judiciously switching home port within Europe every year.

The crew —
The crew consists of 18 people from six different European countries: Italy, France, Spain, Germany, Ireland plus one sailor from Russia

Winning streak —
So far, the "Esimit Europa 2" has claimed 11 consecutive wins -- breaking two course records in her 2010 rookie season.

The man with the plan —
Igor Simcic (right) is the Slovenian businessman who founded the "Esimit" project in 1995. Here he is pictured with Prince Albert of Monaco receiving the "Yacht Club de Monaco" membership in 2011.

The skipper —
Jochen Schümann, the two-time America's Cup winner and three-time German Olympic champion, has been at the helm of the boat since 2010.
