Factory workers unite to rebuild —
Workers at Renesas Electronics battled hard to restore production at the quake-damaged chip maker's factory.

The plant -- which makes 70% of the microchips needed for the auto industry -- was severely damaged.

Ceilings caved in, computers cracked and air filters critical to the sterile conditions at the plant were jammed with dust.

Workers took part in a clean-up operation that was unprecedented in the firm's history.
