Fosberg didn't see this photo of himself as a baby with his Armenian mother and his light-skinned African American father until he was an adult.

Fosberg's grandmother sent him a care package with items she had been saving for 30 years: his baby shoe and photos of them together. The inscription on the back of this one says: "August 1958, Proud grandmom."
