Olympus accounting fraud

Former executives at Olympus (OCPNY) admitted to an accounting fraud worth $1.7 billion lasting more than a decade.
It nearly brought the Japanese electronics company down.
The scandal came to light in October 2011 when former CEO Michael Woodford blew the whistle on $1.5 billion in suspicious payments.
