'That's President Donald Trump speaking to reporters on the status of negotiations to end the war in Iran. He said there's no deadline on when he expects to hear back from Tehran. Iran is still reviewing the latest proposal from the US, according to the country's foreign ministry spokesperson. A regional source familiar with the negotiations tells CNN both sides are moving closer to an agreement on a memo. The same source says the memo would trigger a 30-day period resolving nuclear demands, unfreezing Iranian assets and negotiating security in the Strait of Hormuz. This comes after the US suspended Project Freedom, a military operation to help guide commercial ships through the Strait, citing progress in peace talks. Iran's Revolutionary Guards Navy reacted by saying safe passage through the strait is possible under, quote, new procedures, but didn't specify what they were. Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel targeted a top Hezbollah commander in the first strike in Beirut since the ceasefire in Lebanon. This, as the Trump administration is trying to arrange a meeting between Netanyahu and Lebanon's President Joseph Aoun. The Israeli PM says he expects to speak with President Trump later tonight.

'Authorities found the body of a Special Forces veteran accused of shooting his wife in Tennessee. A county sheriff's office says 53-year-old Craig Berry appeared to have died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Authorities say Berry was wanted on suspicion of attempted murder after he attacked his wife at their home and shot her as she tried to drive off on the night of April 30th. His wife is said to be recovering from what were life-threatening injuries.

The cruise ship hit by hantavirus has left Cape Verde off the coast of Africa and is headed to Spain's Canary Islands. Before that, three people who had fallen ill were evacuated from the ship. Spain's Health Minister says the plan is for the ship to dock in the Canary Islands so that those on board can get off. Authorities are rushing to trace anyone who may have come into contact with the virus. So far, authorities report three confirmed and five suspected cases of the Hantavirus. CNN's Pau Mosquera is in Madrid.

'The president of the regional government, Fernando Clavijo, has claimed over the day they have never been informed or consulted regarding the decision to move the cruise ship to the Canary Islands and also adding that they believe that this decision does not follow any technical or health-related criteria. From the Spanish government's side, they have denied it and they said that they are carrying it out because the World Health Organization has officially requested do so and they will comply with the international law and show some humanitarian spirit. So the latest we know is that the MV Hondius has already set sail to the south of Tenerife and the Ministry of Health estimates that the duration of the journey will be around three days and 12 hours.

'Democrats on the House Oversight Committee are calling on Commerce Secretary Howard Letnick to resign at the end of his four-and-a-half-hour interview about his ties to Jeffrey Epstein. There was bipartisan interest in having him testify after revelations that the men had been in contact beyond what Letnack had initially claimed. Here's House Oversight Republican Chair James Comer.
