Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom all reached record-breaking temperatures this week as Europe suffers through its latest heat wave.

Meteorologists say that Europe is on track for the hottest July on record, following the warmest June since records began in 1880.

At least 12 European countries have experienced record-breaking temperatures this summer.
