Golfing legend —
Tom Watson will play his final British Open next month. The 65-year-old has won the tournament on five occasions, with the first coming in 1975.

Muirfield remembered —
Watson, who has also won two Masters tournaments and one U.S. Open title, enjoyed great success at the British Open. Between 1980 and 1983 he won three tournaments in four years.
Playing to the crowd —
Watson remains a huge crowd favorite in Britain, where he enjoyed some of his most successful tournaments. In 1982, he won at Royal Troon before endearing himself to the locals with his backing for Scotland at that year's football World Cup.

Open heartache —
Watson came close to winning a sixth British Open in 2009 at Turnberry, only to lose out to Stuart Cink in a playoff.

Easy Ryder —
He was heavily criticized for his leadership of the U.S. team at the 2014 Ryder Cup at Gleneagles. The Americans were beaten 16.5-11.5.
