Former Brazil player Zico, whose full name is Arthur Antunes Coimbra, intends to stand for the FIFA presidency in the hope of succeeding Sepp Blatter.

Zico is considered one of Brazil's greatest ever players and represented his nation at three World Cups. He moved into management after playing and has taken charge of the likes of Japan and Iraq.

Zico is the third former player to enter the FIFA presidential race this year. Ex-France international David Ginola withdrew in January after failing to receive the backing of five football federations.

Former Portugal captain Luis Figo pulled out just a week before May's election, referring to the process as "a plebiscite for the delivery of absolute power to one man."

Blatter resigned after being re-elected for a fifth term due to the ongoing FIFA corruption scandal. The date for the election of his successor has not yet been officially set.
