Reiner is accused of fatally stabbing his parents, Hollywood director Rob Reiner and his wife Michelle Reiner last month. A public defender is now taking over, with the arraignments scheduled for February 23rd. The 32-year-old made no plea in court today. He's charged with two counts of first-degree murder. Prosecutors say Reiner also faces a special allegation that he used a knife. The charges carry a penalty of life in prison without parole or the death penalty, though prosecutors haven't decided whether to seek the death-penalty in the case.
