Hey from CNN, I'm Ifeoma Dike with the five things you need to know for Wednesday, June 3rd.

The House has passed a resolution to limit President Donald Trump's war powers in Iran. The vote was 215 to 208, with some Republicans voting with Democrats. It's a significant rebuke to Trump and how he's handled the conflict. The vote must be approved by both chambers, but wouldn't go to Trump to be signed. Earlier, House Speaker Mike Johnson defended several GOP lawmakers who oppose reigning in Trump's war powers in Iran.

'I think it is a very dangerous prospect to take away from the administration and the commander-in-chief right now the ability to negotiate. That's what this does. It weakens us, our position and our leverage in negotiation on the peace in that situation.

Johnson claimed all US objectives in Iran were, quote, achieved, despite some lawmakers, including Republicans, expressing interest in receiving further information from the administration. Trump suggested the ceasefire between the US and Tehran is still in place despite strikes in the region, adding that negotiations are going, quote very well. In a New York Post interview we'll touch more on later in the episode, Trump said Iran's supreme leader was involved in the talks to end the war and that he had hoped to meet him, saying they, quote seem to be along quite well. That's despite the Ayatollah not having been seen in public since the start of the war.

More news coming up, including an update on Trump's ballroom security funding and why a cage fight structure might have a permanent home at the White House.

'Senate GOP leaders hope to kick off a marathon overnight voting session to pass a $70 billion immigration funding package. In the latest version of the bill, Senate Republicans took out funding for President Trump's ballroom security. Senate GOPs leaders had procedural concerns about initially rewriting the ballroom provision to comply with Senate rules and having the votes to push it through, as well as political concerns about it being out of touch with Americans' financial struggles ahead of the midterms. GOP leaders are also trying to defuse a potential rebellion from a small group of Republicans who have concerns about backing the immigration package without explicitly killing Trump's anti-weaponization fund in writing. Florida GOP Senator Thom Tillis says he plans to introduce his own amendment to do so, which could jeopardize the rest of the measure.

It's bad optics for the president, it's bad optics for Republicans in its current form. We got either eliminate it, streamline it, guard rail it, it can't go in its current form, and if that's the only choice we should have, we should eradicate it.

Speaking of President Trump's contentious settlement fund, here he is on the New York Post's podcast, Podforce with Miranda Devine.

'The Anti-Weaponization Fund, have you dropped that?
President Donald Trump
00:02:47
No, a court ruled against it. Yeah. But just so you understand, these are people that have been decimated. I'm very proud to have given importance. And I think they should be reimbursed for a crooked government.

The interview was taped yesterday, and it came as acting Attorney General Todd Blanche told lawmakers that the Justice Department wouldn't move forward with the fund on the same day. But Trump argues in the podcast interview that people who he claims were targeted by a quote, crooked government deserve compensation. It's unclear how Trump's comments align with Blanche's and whether the administration's messaging will eliminate GOP lawmakers' concerns about the fund.

The UFC lighting grid, known as the claw, will stay on the White House south lawn well beyond the fight there later this month. That's what President Trump is suggesting in a TikTok video posted yesterday.

Many don't know that in Paris, France, the Eiffel Tower, 1889, it was built, was supposed to be taken down immediately after the World's Fair. And then they said, you know, we sort of like it. Let's leave it up a little bit longer. And then, they said let's leave it up longer and longer and long. Well, they never took it down.

It's unclear if Trump is making the comment in jest or actually wants to keep the massive structure, which is decorated like the American flag and is taller than the White House. But keeping it would be a huge hassle logistically. Trump's arrivals and departures on the South Lawn have temporarily stopped because the UFC Fight Arena covers where the Marine One helicopter typically lands and departs.

Coming up, a famous banana is missing.

We have another incident to tell you about regarding the famous artwork of a banana taped to a wall at a museum in France. That artwork, known as Comedienne, was stolen. The artist, Mariso Catalin, is known for satirical pieces that challenge popular culture, often provoking debates around conceptual art. A security guard reported the theft and the gallery filed a legal complaint. It noted, however, that the banana was replaced. CNN has contacted the local high court and the Gallery, which sold the artwork for comment. Banana has been eaten four times in the past few years.

That's a wrap. We're back tomorrow morning.
