Notre Dame has stood for over 860 years, through the fall of empires, revolutions and world wars, at the physical, and spiritual, heart of France’s capital. In 2019, a fire devastated the structure but after five years and an over €700 million euro ($738 million) restoration project, the gothic church will soon re-open to the public.
