London, England (CNN) -- Largely unknown by his real name, Alain Robert's death-defying climbs have earned him the nickname the "French Spiderman".
Over the years, the legendary urban climber has made over 100 ascents of some of the world's most iconic landmarks -- from Taiwan's Taipei 101 and Kuala Lumpur's Petronas Towers to Chicago's Sears Tower and Sydney's Center Point.
What is even more remarkable is that Robert usually completes his feats without the help of any safety devices, relying only on his bare hands and a small bag of chalk for a better grip.
His daring climbs draw in not only large crowds of curious onlookers, but often scores of police ready to arrest him after his climb for trespassing.
But after being apprehended by authorities more than 100 times, Robert remains defiant. Just a few weeks ago, the daredevil climber completed his latest illegal ascent, scaling the GDF Suez skyscraper in Paris' La Defense district.
At the age of 47, the father-of-three shows no signs of slowing down.
