Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Dan Caine held a news briefing at the Pentagon on Friday where they commented on the four US service members who died after a refueling aircraft crashed in western Iraq. The US military said the incident was “not due to hostile fire” but an Iranian proxy group claimed responsibility. A second plane involved in the incident landed safely.
