Shachar Peled is a freelance producer and writer for CNN’s Fareed Zakaria GPS based in New York. She also produces, shoots, edits and writes stories for CNN digital and social platforms.

She is a graduate of the Columbia University School of Journalism and a recipient of the 2016 Foreign Press Association multimedia award.

Previously, Shachar was a news anchor and correspondent for i24news, an Israeli-based international news channel broadcast in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and the U.S. She examined how women break traditional barriers in their societies, uncovered social injustices and reported live on-camera from major events in the region, such as Pope Francis’ historic visit to the Middle East, the 2014 war between Israel and Hamas and the 2015 re-election of Benjamin Netanyahu.

Earlier in her career, she was the associate producer for the Israeli “Meet the Press” and a researcher on long-form magazine stories for Channel 2 news prime-time show. Shachar holds a B.A. in Business and Film from Tel Aviv University.
