Michael Cohen walked the jury through former President Donald Trump's alleged involvement in a hush money scheme in court today. According to prosecutors, Cohen paid $130,000 to Stormy Daniels attorney through a shell company before the 2016 election to buy her silence about an alleged affair she had with Trump. Trump denies the affair and the payment. Today, Trump's former personal attorney and fixer testified that former Trump Organization CFO Allen Weisselberg suggested that Cohen front the money to Daniels and that Trump reassured him he'd be reimbursed later. Cohen says he chose to pay Daniels through a home equity credit line because it was paperless, and that he agreed to go through with the deal because Trump told him to.

We understand that there are around a dozen foreign doctors of both American and other nationalities who are now trapped at this European hospital. That's according to, at least one doctor, another person who has spoken to some of our colleagues at CNN. They're with an NGO called FAJR Scientific. They were supposed to leave this week, we're told, and we're at a safe house, but then move to the hospital, because they were told that they had to evacuate.

The State Department says it's aware and that it's working with the Israeli and Egyptian governments on the issue. This, as top U.S. officials warned that an Israeli ground offensive in the southern Gaza city of Rafah will lead to widespread civilian casualties and could spark a Hamas uprising, among other potential outcomes. White House National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan said that while the U.S. does not believe what is happening in Gaza is a genocide, he says it would be a huge mistake to launch a Rafah operation that would put huge numbers of civilians at risk without a clear strategic plan.

'Melinda French Gates has announced she will resign as co-chair of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation that she helped lead for almost 25 years. The foundation has made nearly $78 billion worth of grant payments since its founding in 2000. Its CEO wrote in a statement that French Gates has, quote, "new ideas about the role she wants to play in improving the lives of women and families in the U.S. and around the world." Tens of thousands of people in the former Soviet Republic of Georgia are protesting a so called foreign agents bill. The proposed law would require organizations receiving more than 20% of their funding from abroad to register as, quote, "agents of foreign influence" or face crippling fines. It's modeled after a similar one in Russia that the Kremlin has used to increasingly snuff out dissent. Critics have warned that the proposed law will jeopardize the country's bid to join the European Union, despite fierce opposition from protesters and Georgia's president. The prime minister has vowed that the controversial bill will be passed during a final vote tomorrow. This weekend, 20 people, including two U.S. citizens and one Russian citizen, were detained after participating in a protest outside the parliament, according to state news agency Inter Press. One protester told Reuters why she opposes the bill.

'OpenAI is rolling out a new, more advanced language model for its AI chat bot, ChatGPT. The new model is called Chat GPT-4o. It'll be free to use and have all new capabilities. It'll let ChatGPT function like a digital personal assistant. It'll have real time conversation skills, and the chatbot will also have memory capabilities, meaning it can learn from past conversations. OpenAI says more than 100 million people are already using ChatGPT, and the company expects that number to grow as updates like this one make the tool easier and faster to use.
